BRCAC Club By-Laws, as amended March 12, 2007

These Bylaws are presented in order to improve the safety aspect of all flying activities. It is the duty of the pilot to study, remember and abide by them at all times.

  1. Any and all Executive officers at the field are to act as Safety officers to administer the Bylaws. In The absence of any Executive Officer, the Senior Pilot (Lowest AUS number) is expected to assume this responsibility.
  2. A Safety Officer or Contest Director has authority to reprimand or to ban a pilot for a period up to the following Special General Meeting, at which the meeting may impose additional restrictions.
  3. Any proven infringements of the Bylaws will result in cancellation of clubman points for the season and disqualification from competitive flying for the season.
  4. Only transmitters operating on MAAA approved frequencies are permitted at the field (29 & 36 MHz, Spectrum & synthesized radios).
  5. No pilot shall be permitted to use a transmitter without his/her key, which bears his/her name, in the frequency board, and the key shall only be removed by the pilot in question.
  6. An effective muffler must be used on all engines over 2.0cc with the exception of four strokes and factory made diesels. For control line, only up to 2.5cc engines may be run unmuffled.
  7. Pilots must operate their aircraft from an area adjacent to the pits. They may leave the area only during takeoff and landing.
  8. Aircraft landing have right of way. Pilots are to announce a landing to obtain this right of way. Pilots must announce takeoff also when doing so.
  9. It is illegal to fly aircraft closer than 30 metres to people, vehicles, or occupied buildings.
  10. A Contest Director with authority to co-opt officials as necessary will be appointed for each contest.
  11. All takeoffs and landings are to be made in the one direction. As far as possible all general flying should maintain either left or right hand circuits, away from the pits, depending on the wind direction.
  12. When two or more aircraft require the same frequency, pilots are allowed 10 minutes in which to start their motor, and when this time expires without the aircraft ready for takeoff, the frequency will be cleared for the next pilot in line.
  13. All pilots have the responsibility to ensure that the flying field is left clean after any activities, including those who have been involved in an accident.
  14. The consumption of ALCOHOL is PROHIBITED, as this can nullify any insurance.
  15. There shall be no flying of ANY POWERED AIRCRAFT (including ELECTRIC POWER) on days of TOTAL FIRE BAN.
  16. There shall be NO SMOKING on the FIELD.
  17. Except for Scale and Indoor models, all models must have the owner's registration number permanently affixed to the wing or fuselage. It need not be prefixed by the letters "AUS" unless the model is being flown in an international contest. The characters shall be a minimum of 25mm in height. 18. All new members must have or obtain Bronze Wings Rating (P) before being allowed to go solo
